The all-new Maverick is built on possibilities. Whether customers are planning a weekend project or weekend getaway, Maverick provides strength and efficiency with a standard 2.5L Atkinson-cycle I-4 Hybrid to make it happen. If customers want to add power, the available 2.0L EcoBoost® I-4 engine delivers 250 horsepower and a maximum trailer towing capacity of 4,000 lbs.* with the 4K Tow Package. And since Maverick comes from Built Ford Tough® DNA, the max. payload rating of 1,564 lbs.* should not come as a surprise.
POWERTRAINS
The 2.5L Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid powertrain generates 191 horsepower with the gas engine and electric motor working together. The Maverick hybrid has a targeted EPA-estimated range of 500 miles* and a targeted EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 37 MPG combined.*
The gas engine works with the electric motor to operate the vehicle at low speeds and supply a power boost when needed at higher speeds. The gas engine alone makes 162 horsepower and 155 lb.-ft. of torque.*
TOWING AND PAYLOAD CAPABILITIES
Equipped with the 2.0L
EcoBoost® engine and the 4K Tow Package, Maverick has a
maximum trailer tow rating of 4,000
lbs.*
With the standard 2.5L hybrid engine, the truck can tow up to 2,000 lbs.
Customers can load Maverick up to its maximum payload rating* of 1,564 lbs. with the 2.5L Hybrid, which is enough capacity to haul 39 bags of mulch at 40 lbs. each or a small recreational ATV.
ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (AWD) SYSTEM
The AWD System determines the optimal amount of front and rear torque to send to the wheels, depending on driving conditions, to prevent or reduce wheelspin. The driver doesn't need to activate the system - it automatically engages on wet or dry surfaces based on wheel speeds, throttle position and steering wheel angle to determine the truck's condition and driver's intent. When AWD is combined with traction control or the AdvanceTrac electronic stability control system, a high level of torque can be sent to the wheel(s) with the best traction.
FX4 OFF-ROAD PACKAGE
Equipped with the AWD
system,
all-terrain tires, Hill Descent Control™ and skid plates to protect components, Maverick with
the
available FX4 Off-Road Package is ready to take owners beyond
where the road ends.
FX4 also provides a trailer hitch receiver along with exposed front tow hooks
to
help owners get serious about their fun. The package features 17" black-painted aluminum wheels, plus "FX4 Off-Road" box-side
decals.
EXTERIOR
The all-new Maverick design fits an active customer's lifestyle with its four-door SuperCrew® cab and versatile, practical FLEXBED™ pickup bed system. Every Maverick model has a 4.5' cargo box that extends to 6' with the tailgate fully down. Popular bed accessories, such as the bed extender and cargo bed net, are available at the time of purchase. The newest member of the Ford family of pickups shows its Built Ford Proud® pickup DNA from the power dome hood to the smooth beltline tying its profile together to the multi-position tailgate.
UP FRONT
Maverick shows its family resemblance to the other Ford trucks with a horizontal front-end design that emphasizes width and a confident stance. Each trim level has an individual appearance with XLT and Lariat featuring gray or silver bars across the grille.Two exposed front tow hooks are included in the available FX4 Off-Road Package.
ALONG THE SIDE
Maverick features a lower profile than the Ranger and F-150 stable mates, which means items in the pickup bed stay within easy reach from the sides. The C clamp style fender badge borrows a styling cue from F-150, and look closely to find asubtle contour line that mimics the F-150 drop-down window design. Plus, Maverick features rocker moldings and box-top moldings for toughness and durability. Each model also has a distinct 17" or 18" wheel with exclusive designs for the available FX4 Off-Road and First Edition Packages.
AT THE REAR
The Maverick logo stamped into the tailgate shows off the newest member of the truck family's Built Ford Tough® pride. The bold wrap-around taillamp design and tailgate molding are further reminders that this truck is designed for rugged use. The Lariat model features an LED cargo bed light in the CHMSL.
MULTI-POSITION TAILGATE
The tailgate of the Maverick can be closed, fully open or partially open at a mid-height tailgate position, which owners may use to carry a 4x8 sheet of plywood.* The tailgate also features tie-down cleats at the sides that include bottle openers.
FLEXBED™ SYSTEM
Maverick designers made the most of pickup bed functionality with the FLEXBED™ system, which helps owners organize, secure or conceal their cargo and supplies. FLEXBED™ includes creative storage solutions, such as the closable storage cubby in the side wall (XLT and Lariat). The bed features stamped slots and provisions to allow customers to use 2x4 or 2x6 boards as dividers to create sections or insert a panel as a shelf for two-tier loading. A divider board can be inserted on its edge - or flat to serve as a support beam for a shelf. With six standard cargo tie-down rings and four adjustable D link connectors available, Maverick owners can transport gear to their destination with confidence.
